INFORMATION RELATED TO IT CELL
The role of IT cell Bihar Board of Open schooling and examination includes the work related to the website, information technology, digitalization, Digital India initiative and liaison with other stakeholders.
Mission of the IT Cell
We intend to help our stakeholders (students, faculties, employees, Government, and other associated organizations/people) to be informed and timely compliances required by the Board.
Introduction of the IT Cell
Information Technology is the backbone of every organization especially for an education Board. The IT cell of the Board has been constituted with an objective to create a speedy and rapid functioning of the administrative work and academic activities. The cell is working with the existing infrastructure and manpower. The cell is trying to faster the growth of the Board by maximizing the usages of Information Technology.
The IT Cell look after the Board work related with the Automation, Electronic Information Exchange. It also includes complete Board Websites’ functioning such as uploading, unloading of information etc. The IT Cell also focus on the official E-mail id(s) management of the students, coordinator and employees, online form filling and fee deposition (for admission, examination, time bound publishing of results and Complain rescheduled system).
Infrastructure
The Computer Unit backs up the Information Technology needs of the Institute. It provides computing facilities and Internet services to all the staff members and candidate of the Study Center. Network facilities have been provided to all the staff members to access and share the Resources. Individual email accounts have been provided to all the staff members on BBOSE Domain. High speed internet connectivity through network connections and through Wi-Fi is provided to all the staff members of the Board. Wi-Fi internet connectivity is provided in all the floors in the BBOSE office building. Appropriate network security is being maintained in the Board. The Computer Unit is equipped with state-of the art Centralized computing facilities through high performance servers in client server architecture. Over the years all necessary hardware and software infrastructure were installed for computerization of BBOSE activities.
Starting with a small Computer Unit with few numbers of computers, it has reached to the level of full fledge Computer Division with five units within it namely.
- EDP Unit.
- Internet & On-line Application Unit.
- Software Development and Implementation Unit.
- Networking & Maintenance Unit.
- Data Center Unit.
Today it is equipped with latest hardware and software. There is Local Area Network with centralised database. There are two fast line matrix printers to meet the requirements of heavy printing work of the EDP unit. Besides Desktop and printers were provided to all the departments and branches for their smooth and efficient functioning. All the computers in all the buildings relate to a high-end HP server and Windows/Linux server Operating System and 100/155 mbps backbone connectivity. This has greatly enhanced communication and resource sharing among the users.
For Internet there is Internet Leased Line (ILL) installed. With this, the access of the Internet has been made possible round the clock through the Local Area Network. This has greatly augmented the Information and Communication capability of BBOSE.
BBOSE is having web servers for all online applications and database.

BBOSE was one of the first educational institutions at school level to use ICT for bringing about a major structural and functional transformation of its basic operations of Admission, Examination, result and Accreditation under the project BBOSE Online.
